Reservoir Roadford reservoir construction
Roadford Reservoir (Roadford Lake) was built between 1987 and 1990 in West Devon to provide water principally for North Devon. Living in the area at the time the following clumsy panoramas were constructed from a series of film camera images taken during the period with the final image taken during a visit in 2015 having left the area in 2000.
The valley was cleared of buildings, before the earth-dam was started (on the left), and the concrete intake tower to the right of centre.
The dam has reached full height and is being covered in waterproof asphaltic concrete. The input tower is almost at full height.
The dam is fully covered and the input tower yet to be capped.
More or less complete the water has begun to rise.
